About This Place

Le Marais offers a quintessential French steakhouse experience nestled in the heart of New York City's Theater District at 150 W 46th St. This kosher steakhouse artfully blends classic French culinary traditions with a focus on prime meats, delivering a dining experience that truly satisfies carnivores and gourmands alike.

Step inside, and you’ll be greeted by a charming, old-school Parisian atmosphere that evokes the nostalgic warmth of a bygone era. The space is intimate, inviting diners to immerse themselves fully in the culinary journey. While some find the close seating a bit lively, many appreciate this cozy vibe as part of Le Marais' authentic bistro character.

The menu is a celebration of expertly crafted meats and classic French comfort dishes. Steak lovers will be delighted by the standout Steak Frites Salade, featuring perfectly cooked cuts paired with crispy golden fries and fresh, vibrant salad greens. For those who appreciate a rich, robust flavor profile, the Ribeye with Mashed Potatoes offers tender, juicy beef balanced with silky, creamy potatoes.

Adventurous diners can indulge in the Steak Tartare Frites, delivering raw, finely chopped beef seasoned with finesse and accompanied by crisp fries. The Wagyu Beef Sliders provide an ultra-luxe bite bursting with umami, while the Prime Rib and Hanger Steak are excellent choices for a hearty, satisfying meal.

Le Marais also excels in its appetizer and charcuterie offerings. The Assiette De Charcuterie is a thoughtfully curated board featuring pâté, rillettes, beef jerky, and saucisson — perfect for sharing over a glass of their carefully selected red wine. The seasonal Watermelon & Tomato Salad adds a refreshing and inventive twist with heirloom tomatoes, fresh watermelon, and a citrus vinaigrette that enlivens the palate.

Dessert is no afterthought here. The house-made Warm Chocolate Cake with Vanilla Ice Cream melts in your mouth with rich, decadent chocolaty warmth, while the light and velvety Chocolate Mousse topped with Whipped Cream rounds out the meal with elegance. For those craving a unique finale, the Dome of Peanut Mousse offers a luscious, nutty indulgence that is both refined and comforting.

Le Marais is not just about food — it’s about creating an experience that resonates on multiple levels. Diners repeatedly praise the attentive and friendly staff, making every meal feel personalized and welcoming. As one guest aptly put it, it’s an ideal spot for a “date night or family dinner,” where the relaxed vibe lets you savor every bite without rush.

Whether you’re celebrating a special occasion or simply craving an exceptional steak in an authentic French setting, Le Marais delivers with consistent quality and heartfelt hospitality. I had a craving for a steak and fries. This place satisfied my craving. They specialized in steak and price is reasonable. I also love their salads dressing. I love the atmosphere of nostalgic old times and relaxed vibe. I am going back and try other cuts of steaks.

I came with my son to NYC for his birthday and we went to a few resteraunts and we decided to rate them based on different categories. 1. Environment and Ambiance: we gave this category a 1 out of 5 or 3 out of 10. Its not nice. Some might call it cozy. We dont. You are sitting close enough to your neighbors and neighbor's neighbors that everyone can hear each other's conversations and there is no privacy. It does not have a feel of a high end resteraunt. Depending on where you are sitting you might fee like you are in a public thoroughfare. 2. Qaulity of food: I got a hangar steak and my son got a center cut. Both were pretty good. Its not a 5 star because first, my prior experience was not great, second, we only had a few things ever to be able to tell the consistency throughout the menu, and third each bite of the center cut was a different experience. It was not very consistent, but still good. The actual qaulity of the meat seamed good. 3. Presentation of food: My son says 3 out of 5. I give it a 2.5 out of 5. The plates were big so they just filled it with lettuce and fries. Not very like a 5 start experience. I know I'm in an upper class resteraunt and expect smaller portions (very large portion for hangar steak) and more effort on presentation. 4. Speed of food: 4 out 5! We recieved our food very fast. That could be because it was not so busy, but either way we had a good experience. 5. Qaulity and speed of service: i cant give a 5 out of 5 but less than a 3.5 out of 5 would mean it was bad service. It was not bad, but it was as expected. It definitely did not exceed expectations but you won't be disappointed; but you likely won't be impressed. OVERALL: It was a good meal but not where I will run to for 5 star dining. If you are in the area and want to check it out I recommend it as its also fairly priced compared to its competition. Until next rime.

I had an amazing experience at Le Marais Steakhouse! The atmosphere was warm, classy, and inviting — perfect for both a night out with friends or a special dinner. The service was outstanding — attentive without being overbearing. The food was absolutely incredible! The steak was cooked perfectly — juicy, flavorful, and tender — easily one of the best I’ve had in the city. The sides and sauces complemented everything perfectly, and the dessert was the perfect finish to an unforgettable meal. Highly recommend this place to anyone looking for top-quality food and great vibes. Can’t wait to come back!
